ABS (Anti Lock Brake Systems) ABS is an electronic monitoring and pressure adjusting system added to the standard breaking system. ABS keeps the tires from locking up and sliding in an emergency or panic stop regardless of peddle pressure. The old style of pumping is not necessary with ABS and in fact can hamper the effectiveness of the system. Steady firm pressure on the peddle is a more desired and affective method. These systems require properly trained certified technicians with correct testing procedures, test equipment and tools to properly service the units. Electrical Sooner Muffler and Brake and Auto Repair has the testing equipment to diagnose your cars electrical system completely. We can test the battery in a full load condition simulating you cranking the auto and determine if the battery is week and needs replacing. We can also tell you if your charging system is operating properly to keep the battery fully charged. Today's automobile requires the electrical system to maintain a constant voltage due to all the computerized sensors and controls. Most cars with EFI require a minimum of 8 volts to crank. A low battery can affect the charging systems ability to maintain a constant voltage and in turn will not properly charge the battery. The only way to tell which is affecting the other is to connect the system to the proper test equipment and have a trained technician to observe the test and determine the problem.
